If you've ever cracked open your favourite fizzy drink on a hot holiday, only to find it tastes different to one at home, you're not imagining things.
Despite being sold worldwide, it is widely believed that a can of Fanta just tastes different when overseas - and there's a reason why. The Mirror reports that a Fanta in the UK may not hit the same spot as on holiday because it's made differently in each country, with the biggest difference being down to sugar.
It's reported that Fanta sold in the UK now has a sugar content of 4.6g per 100ml since 2017, compared to more than 5g before. Whereas in other European countries, the levels of sugar have been altered, meaning there are different Fanta variations across Europe. Interestingly, Fanta in Italty contains 12 per cent of orange juice, whereas in the UK it's just 3.7 per cent - another reason why it can taste much better abroad. According to LadBible, Coca Cola said: "We produce Fanta Orange across Europe and the juice content may vary in different countries.
