Happy Place will reunite Reba McEntire with her Reba team, Melissa Peterson and Kevin Abbott
Maybe nature is indeed healing, because Reba McEntire is headed back to network television. The beloved country singer-cum-actor is not only launching another sitcom, she’s doing it with her old Reba crew. Co-star Melissa Peterman and showrunner Kevin Abbott are both on board for the new show, Happy Place. The pilot was first announced at the beginning of the year, and this week NBC ordered the show to series.
“We have been working on trying to get another show since we were canceled on the Reba show. We got to do Malibu Country for one season. We’ve got the same producers, same showrunner, same writers and now we’re back with Melissa Peterman and Rex Linn, my boyfriend, and wonderful, wonderful cast and crew,” McEntire said in a statement to People. “We had such a good time doing the pilot—we can’t wait to go back.
