There is speculation the British prime minister could go to the polls within the next 12 months, particularly if the country’s economy improves.
Rishi Sunak has nominated protecting motorists from a speedier transition to net-zero and low-speed zones as part of his long-term vision to justify giving the Conservatives an unprecedented fifth term in government.
“My first priority was to bring immediate relief to people, support with the cost of living, which we’ve done with energy bills, put a plan in place to stop the boats. “[What] we’re going to bring forward is making sure that the guidance to councils about how these things are done is done with regard to the needs and wants of local communities,” he said.
