This sorry-looking building was coming to the end of its life but for many years it had been home to one of Watford’s pubs.
has again linked up with its friends at Watford Museum to look back at structures, objects or businesses from the town’s past that have either disappeared or been relocated and this week we recall the Leathersellers’ Arms.
The museum’s volunteer archivist Christine Orchard said: “The Leathersellers’ Arms was in Lower High Street, almost opposite Watford Field Road, and stood roughly in the plot where the entrance to the pedestrian pathway is today, adjacent to the fire station.“The building shown in this image has its mid-20th century alterations, but the pub had already existed here for many years.
