The Philippines is hoping to improve the trade economic relations with the United States under President-elect Donald Trump , Finance Secretary Ralph Recto said Monday.''We hope we can improve that. We are a national security ally of the United States. I'm sure they're well aware that our economic security... if our economy does better, then we can be a more dependable ally,'' Recto said in an ambush interview.
Recto is also optimistic on having more investments with Washington under Trump's leadership, adding that the signing of the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises to Maximize Opportunities for Reinvigorating the Economy Act is very timely to achieve this goal.Trump was elected President by securing more than the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the presidency for the second time.
