A major sale featuring 120 lots from the archives of Ralph & Russo, the London couture house once a favorite of A-listers, is taking place at Bonhams in London. The auction includes one-of-a-kind gowns worn by celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway, Kylie Jenner, and Zendaya, offering fashion collectors a chance to own a piece of red-carpet history.
Awards season is here, but one brand absent from the red carpet is Ralph & Russo, which was sold to investors after going into administration back in 2021. Once a permanent fixture, the London couture house founded by Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo in 2010 was a favourite of A-listers like Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Anne Hathaway and more.
” The one-of-a-kind gowns up for auction include Angelina Jolie’s crystal-embellished caped dress, featuring a handmade gold cage bodice, which she wore to the London premiere of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil in 2019. Then there’s the red tulle gown, covered in hundreds of individually-cut petals, that Anne Hathaway sported for the Witches premiere in London during the pandemic in 2020.
