FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The National Weather Service of Fairbanks has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect this weekend, from 10 a.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 8 through June 9.
According to the National Weather Service, dry, warm and windy conditions will continue through this weekend. This could push trees into power lines and start fires. Winds will blow from the east at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Gusts to 35 mph over higher elevations and humidity will be as low as 18%.
A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous fires.
