MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Agriculture said on Tuesday that the suggested retail price for red onions in Metro Manila wet markets is now at P125 per kilogram.
“The Department of Agriculture has issued a suggested retail price of P125 per kilogram of medium and big-sized imported red onion in wet markets within the National Capital Region,” the DA said in a statement.DA Administrative Circular No. 5 was dated February 6 but was only announced to the media on Tuesday.
“In order not to aggravate the current difficulties of the Filipino people affected by the pandemic and rising fuel prices, there is a need to guide the consuming public on the reasonable prices of basic necessities in the market,” said the circular.
