Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the referendum is about getting a “voice to Canberra” from Indigenous communities. “A voice that will have no power over this parliament or over government,” Mr Albanese said during Question Time on Thursday. “But it will have the power of its ideas being put forward in a respectful way. “We are being asked to walk just a few steps to with a hand outreached … to just join it. “That’s what Australians do, to move forward together.”
