The Sunderland boss has history with the Leeds goalkeeper
Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has explained what he said to Illan Meslier at the final whistle after a horror ending to the game for the Leeds United man. In the dying seconds of the match at the Stadium of Light and with Leeds winning 2-1, Meslier saw Alan Browne's poor cross bounce in front of him and then somehow evade his hands and head into the net to level matters.
Amid the chaos at full time as everyone tried to get their head around what had happened, the Sunderland boss made sure to go and speak to Meslier, who he previously worked with at Lorient. “Still difficult because when you make this kind of mistake you're disappointed for him. I can't say anything. We just spoke about the action and said the ball changed direction when it touched the ground and it was surprising - happy for me but not so happy for him.”
