Republican candidate for Governor Dave Reichert praised California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom for a new executive order on removing homeless encampments

Today, I announced an executive order to move the process forward.
Reichert added that violent crime in encampments is preventing service providers from reaching the ‘most vulnerable people’ who are homeless. “They want to boast about moving a few camps out, but how long has it taken for us to get to this point? So finally, they take some action and expect high praise for a small amount of work," Reichert said.“This is Governor Newsom, someone I don’t always agree with, but I agree with his decision, and this shows that Democrats and Republicans both have good ideas," he said.
