Renée Zellweger, British Vogue’s February 2025 cover star, introduced a special screening of her film ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’ in Soho to a crowd that included author Helen Fielding, Nathalie Emmanuel, Alva Claire, Charlotte Mensah and Blondey McCoy.

For British Vogue’s February 2025 issue, Hugh Grant turned hack, interviewing cover star Renée Zellweger ahead of her return in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. His questions, naturally, were divided into five categories. “Career, fashion, Bridget Jones, novelty questions – which could be anything – personal and intrusive.” It’s while chatting about the third topic that Grant offered up his take on why the Bridget Jones franchise has such enduring appeal.

Hosted by Zellweger and head of editorial content Chioma Nnadi at The Soho Hotel, the evening featured a cameo from Bridget creator Helen Fielding, who joined the likes of Alva Claire, Nathalie Emmanuel and Queenie star Dionne Brown for pineapple margaritas and canapés pre-film. “I’ve always had such a soft spot for Bridget Jones – I mean, haven’t we all had a Bridget moment at one point or another? – there’s just something so relatable and reassuring about her,” says Nnadi.
