Celtic could still see their resolve to keep Kyogo Furuhashi tested this month with Stade Rennes reportedly willing to wait until after their next two Champions League fixtures to make a move.

UEFA rules state that clubs cannot alter their squads during the league phase - with clubs allowed to register a maximum of three new players by February 6 should they progress from the league phase. And should the Scottish champions sell before the clash at Villa Park it would leave Adam Idah as the only recognised first-team striker in their Champions League squad. Not likely, then.
