Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson have officially begun urgent repairs on their shared home Royal Lodge after staving off another eviction threat from King Charles.
Prince Andrew 's crumbling home Royal Lodge is finally undergoing major renovations after King Charles reportedly sent a letter threatening to evict the Duke and Duchess of York if they did not carry out urgent repairs.
New photos published in British newspapers on Tuesday showed contractors renovating parts of the grand home with scaffolding and skips erected around the lodge.Andrew will personally fork out £200,000 on an external paint job and repairs for his residence, despite concerns over the state of his financial resources after being stripped of his royal duties.
The update comes after shocking photos revealed the growing dilapidation of Royal Lodge, including peeling paint and discolouration on the home’s iconic white exterior. Andrew, 64, has already been granted one “stay of execution” last year after agreeing to a deal with the King to carry out urgent roof repairs on the 19th century, Grade II-listed property.
