“Rental stress” is still prominent after the Commonwealth Rent Assistance package handouts, according to Everybody’s Home Spokesperson Maiy Azize.
“A person on Youth Allowance, they need to find a rental that’s less than about $100 a week,” Ms Azize told Sky News Australia.
“If you’re a person on JobSeeker, you’d be looking at about $125 a week all the way up to about $165 a week if you are on the Age Pension.

Renters facing ‘tough time’ with the market ‘exceptionally tight’REA Group senior economist Paul Ryan says the rental market is “exceptionally tight”, with fewer available rentals on the market than at any time since 2003. “We’ve got rental prices up over the past year, 6.7 per cent nationally, 10 per cent in capital cities,” he told Sky News Australia. “Rental vacancy rates are below two per cent in almost all regions of Australia. “It’s a really, really tough time for renters all across the country.”
