Tory MPs and housing experts are warning Michael Gove that his Renters’ Reform Bill has a loophole which landlords could exploit to evict their tenants. 🔴 Victoria_Spratt and DavidParsley50 report:

The lobby group Generation Rent who campaign for private renters’ rights echoed these concerns.

However, he cautioned that Generation Rent had concerns that “landlords who are currently evicting tenants to raise the rent or avoid their repair obligations could misuse [the new legislation].” Labour MP Clive Betts said he expects the Renters’ Reform Bill to make it through parliament in spite of Tory backbench rebels.
