Firefighters tackled a massive fire in Renton in an area that neighbors and fire crews confirm has been the site of a longtime homeless encampment on Wednesday.

Renton Regional Fire Authority reported investigators are looking into what sparked it, leading to estimated 40-foot flames just after 7 a.m. KOMO crews went to the location of the fire to see the aftermath, which revealed an encampment with at least 20 shopping carts, clothes, kids' bicycles, trash and a lot more.
