John Paul Crook, a notorious criminal with a long history of convictions, has been arrested for stealing alcohol from a masonic hall in Coatbridge, Scotland. He was previously charged with ransacking an electrical office.
A 46-year-old man from Coatbridge, Scotland , with a history of criminal activity spanning three decades, was apprehended for stealing alcohol worth £1500 from a Masonic hall. John Paul Crook, whose surname ironically reflects his criminal behavior, has accumulated a staggering 66 convictions over the past 30 years. Crook confessed to breaking into TES Electrical on Hornock Road on February 27, 2022.
Prior to the Masonic hall incident, he had already been charged with ransacking the electrical company office. CCTV footage captured Crook scaling the electrical company's perimeter fence in the early hours of February 27. He spent over an hour on the premises before making off with petty cash, bank and fuel cards, and keys to vehicles and outbuildings. The office building sustained extensive damage, estimated at approximately £7000. Police officers identified Crook from the CCTV footage. Days later, while on bail, Crook targeted the Lodge St Andrew 544 in Wood Street, Coatbridge. He broke into the Masonic hall and pilfered alcohol from a locked storeroom. His DNA was subsequently found on a door, linking him to the crime. Sheriff Tony McGlennan postponed sentencing until next month pending background reports. Crook had been held in custody since his arrest in August but the sheriff granted him bail, stipulating that he would comply with a community payback order imposed by the same court last month. The sheriff expressed his intention to deter Crook from his persistent criminal behavior that has negatively impacted the community
