The number of reported fatalities due to Severe Tropical Storm PaengPH has soared to 150, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Thursday.

Based on NDRRMC’s 6 a.m. report, only 94 of the total reported deaths have been confirmed so far while the rest were "up for verification."

Most of the fatalities were reported in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao with 63 deaths, followed by Calabarzon with 33 and Western Visayas with 29.The NDRRMC also said 3,963,555 people or 1,131,409 families were affected by Paeng. Of the total affected population, 173,957 persons or 43,996 families were staying inside 2,094 evacuation centers, while 1,038,344 individuals or 355,032 families were taking shelter in other places.

Meanwhile, 15,162 houses were damaged — 12,968 partially and 2,194 totally — by the floods, landslides and storm surges caused by Paeng. Damage to agriculture worth P2.441 billion was reported due to Paeng. The National Irrigation Administration reported P1.475 million worth of damage.Due to the impact of Paeng, 292 cities/municipalities were declared under a state of calamity.According to the NDRRMC, assistance worth P136.849 million was already provided to victims of Paeng.

Paeng made landfall over Camarines Sur on October 29 and exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on October 31.
