Hundreds of protesters wearing yellow t-shirts and placards reading “Not My king” have been spotted since crowds started gathering for the royal event early this morning.
As many as 2,000 protesters are expected to assemble below Nelson’s column by midday including representatives of the Swedish, Dutch and Norwegian republican movements. However, officials insisted they would not let the anti-monarchy demonstrations ruin the once-in-a-generation event. Soldiers from the King’s Guard could also draw their weapons on protesters who breach security barriers, according to officials.
