Four men are trapped atop the popular mountain in Stirling Range National Park, in WA's Great Southern region.

abc.net.au/news/wa-police-ambulance-rain-snow-bid-rescue-men-bluff-knoll/102808806Emergency services and dozens of SES volunteers are attempting to rescue four men believed to be stranded atop a popular mountain in Western Australia's south.

The men, all believed to be in their 20s, are reportedly near the top of Bluff Knoll in the Stirling Range National Park, about 400 kilometres south-east of Perth. The men — some of whom police and St John crews believe to be suffering hypothermia — called emergency services last night but conditions were too treacherous to launch a rescue attempt and they were forced to stay on the mountain overnight.

St John WA said rescuers had begun their ascent up the mountain but the rescue could take hours given the area's hilly terrain and poor weather conditions, including snow, rain and strong winds.
