Residents at Downtown Cleveland apartments demand action after they find themselves living in 'scary' conditions.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Many residents in the downtown Cleveland apartment complex of St. Clair Place are tired of living in the apartment complex they deem “scary”.
Because of these risky conditions, the group of residents formed the St. Clair Place Tenants’ Association. In December of 2023, the team worked together with the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland to send a lawsuit to the owners in hopes of them enacting changes.“The residents of this building are like our grandparents, they’re our elders. We should be providing them with safe and suitable housing,” Lauren Hamilton with the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland said.
