They are excited to introduce Notts people to their culture
A Nottingham restaurant has expanded but the team behind it said it will be a very different experience. Viet80s, a Vietnamese restaurant, is opening a street food cafe and coffee shop just around the corner in Friar Lane.
"At Viet80s street food the customer will have completely different experiences of street food in Vietnam including space, time, and images. This is a very beautiful cultural feature of the Vietnamese people. At Viet80s Coffee customers will enjoy special drinks with unique Vietnamese flavours."On the menu will be banh mi, the traditional Vietnamese baguette, caramelised pork belly and sticky rice, and fried snails. Coffee is from Tay Nguyen, the most famous area for coffee in Vietnam.
Iris said: "In different countries, people have different traditional dishes and drinks for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and also side meals. Vietnamese usually have banh mi, pho, bun and coffee for breakfast, big meals with rice for lunch and dinner. We are so excited to introduce you to Vietnamese food culture by experiencing our Viet80s Coffee, Viet80s Street Food and Viet80s restaurant.
VIet80s restaurant, which stands on the corner of Maid Marian Way and Friar Lane, opened in 2021 in the thick of the pandemic, with social distancing, face masks and tables with a maximum of six diners under coronavirus restrictions. It has gained a following since then with one diner saying "it's a lovely place to get some authentic Vietnamese food."
