Owners have abandoned the legal fight

A restaurant in Northampton town centre which lost its licence to serve alcohol after it was found a 17-year-old girl was serving alcohol has withdrawn its appeal against the decision. Northamptonshire Police said the "overwhelming evidence against them", including testimonies from neighbours, led the owners to abandon the legal fight.

Multiple complaints had been made previously by police officers and members of the public about the venue. It was also found that one underage patron was the victim of an assault.Review members heard from one neighbour who lived with his young son and was regularly disturbed by loud music and anti-social behaviour arising from the premises. The noise had caused his son to be so sleep deprived that it was affecting his schoolwork.

The hearing was also told that and that underage people were regularly served alcohol at the venue. This included one young woman who would go on to report an assault.
