A second team of responders has brought down another cadaver from the Cessna plane that crashed near the crater of Mayon Volcano on February 18.
The retrieval team arrived at the base camp in Barangay Anoling, Camalig town in Albay at 1:07 a.m. on Thursday.The first body was brought down early Wednesday evening by another team of responders.The teams carrying the remaining two bodies are expected to arrive later today, according to Camalig mayor Carlos 'Caloy' Irwin G. Baldo, ground commander of the operation.
The Cessna plane with registry number RP-C2080, owned by the Energy Development Corp. , departed Bicol International Airport on February 18, at 6:43 a.m. and crashed shortly after.On board are pilot Capt. Rufino James Crisostomo Jr., aircraft mechanic Joel Martin and EDC technical consultants Simon Chipperfield and Karthi Santanan.The wreckage was located at the west side slope of Mayon Volcano 6,500 feet above sea level, just 350-400 meters away from the crater of Mayon.
