Police in North Carolina will primarily use the 2024 Ford Mustang GTs to patrol interstates
Police in the state once used the famous Ford Mustang SSP in its highway patrol fleet. The 2024 Mustang GT's 5.0-liter Coyote V8 delivers 480 hp and 415 lb-ft. Authorities say the costs of the new muscle cars are comparable to other vehicles in its fleet.

Several changes have been made to the Fords to get them ready for police duty. The muscle car is primarily painted in gloss black but features matte silver accents running along the sides with the NC State Highway Patrol emblem. No photos of the cabin have been released but it too will have been upgraded with police equipment.
