I get the feeling Chromebooks are often overlooked when punters go looking for a new laptop. Apple and Windows machines continue to dominate but there is a third option, and sometimes it might be the best.
First, let's start off with its looks. And the Galaxy looks pretty stunning and is wafer-thin. The top has a metallic dark blue finish which really pops. The laptop is just 11.8mm thick yet still finds space for a decent number of ports and even an HDMI socket, and comes in at a little over 1kg. You also get 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. The keyboard is backlit and provides comfortable typing. It does cram in a number pad which is both a curse and a blessing. It's layout is squished a bit so takes time to get used to, while it also means you sometimes miss the return key.
But these are only minor quibbles as the laptop is a breeze to use and comes with Gemini, Google's answer to AI. It can help you to summarise long articles, get quick answers, translate live and write flawless copy.
