The decision by PGMOL to allow Nottingham Forest access to the match officials' audio from the Everton loss is not universally popular - but not for the reason you would expect
Referees body PGMOL have been prompted to release the VAR audio of Nottingham Forest's match with Everton publicly rather than privately, and reform their methods of transparency.
The day after, another club statement requested the audio of conversations between the match officials from the three penalties decisions. PGMOL chief Howard Webb now takes part in a monthly programme called 'Mic'd Up', during which he explains the decision-making process, mistakes and methods to rectify them for the future, but Forest fans will not know until next week whether matters from the Everton match will be included or excluded for public consumption.
"The sooner we have live access to what’s being said at the monitor the better. Behaviour like this adds to the conspiracy theories. Just be honest - and open."
