Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan have revealed all about the early days of their romance in a new Channel 5 documentary, Richard and Judy: Our Best Bits - In Our Own Words. The couple, who presented This Morning for 13 years, were separated at work when bosses discovered their relationship.

Their working relationship eventually turned into a romantic one, leading to their marriage in 1986. Dianne Nelmes, a former television executive and producer, recalls hearing rumours about their relationship, but initially dismissed them. Addressing past sour experiences, Richard claimed there was "jealously, resentment disapproval" from the senior management who seemingly disapproved of their relationship.

During this time, executives were on a hunt for the perfect pair to present a daytime chat show that would eventually become This Morning.
