Richard Osman has responded to speculation that he might be joining the celebrity version of The Traitors, hinting at an exciting lineup for the show. The Pointless star was reportedly targeted by producers for the upcoming celebrity edition, set to be broadcast later this year.
Addressing the gossip on The Rest is Entertainment podcast, co-host Marina Hyde expressed her eagerness to see him on Celebrity Traitors, saying: "I'm so desperate for you to do Celebrity Traitors. I can't even tell you," to which Richard replied: "I'm not. I'm really not. I'm not even lying - I know some of the names who are."
Richard expressed deep sympathy for the show's casting team, stating that he feels "so desperately sorry" for the casting directors. He elaborated on the challenge by saying: "You want great characters who also have a journey to go on and have hidden depths and going to be fun for people to watch and who are also going to make people talk", reports the Mirror.
He noted the tendency to retain less dynamic participants, clarifying: "You tend to keep your more mediocre characters - by the way, not mediocre human beings, just in terms of a TV presence - you tend to keep those in later. If I was a casting director, it must be impossible to do."
