Richardson police fatally shot a man early Sunday morning who was armed with a knife while responding to a suspected domestic violence incident, a news release said.
At about 4:11 am, officers responded to the 1500 block of Fair Oaks Drive for a call about a domestic violence incident in progress. A woman reported she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, who was armed with a weapon.The first officer on the scene found the man in the garage with a knife, according to the release. The man ignored the officer’s commands to drop the knife, instead exiting the garage and moving across the backyard towards the officer.
