TV star Ricki Lake has candidly opened up on her secret battle with hair loss, revealing she felt suicidal after struggling for “most of her adult life”.Ricki blamed having her hair “triple processed and teased” during 1988 hit film Hairspray, in which she starred as Tracy Turnblad.
“I know that by sharing my truth, I will be striking a chord with so so many women and men. I am not alone in this and my goal is to help others while at the same time unshackle myself from this quiet hell I have been living in.” She added that she feels “brave, liberated and beautiful” after making the decision to shave her hair.
