The superstar swapped out the style for her natural hair at the launch of her Rihanna x Fenty Hair products in Los Angeles last night.
For the occasion, she slipped into a custom Khaite outfit that combined an oversized, slouchy leather jacket with a midi-length skirt in the same oxblood color. To top it all off, she added stacks and stacks of ruby and diamond jewelry from Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi, Reza, and David Webb. With a song called "Diamonds" to her name, it was only fitting that she was dripping in jewels.
“For sure, a part of self-expression, self-identity, a part of my mood, my being. My hair can either make my confidence or take my confidence right away. Hair makes an outfit. I don’t want to leave one customer behind…I wanted everyone to have a product they could meet when they come in touch with Fenty Hair," she said. “The boys, it’s perfect for their hair.”RiRi also explained that she leans on her mother when it comes to styling her boys' hair.
"My mom is really the hairdresser of the family. She’s not a hairdresser, but RZA lets her do his hair," the singer said. "It’s longer than Riot’s, it’s thicker than Riot’s. I can try anything on his hair." As for fans speculating that she won't be releasing music anytime soon—especially after she was seen wearing an “I'm Retired” shirt—Ri told everyone to calm down and that if and when she decided to hang up her mic, everyone would know: "Wait for the ‘I Quit’ T-shirt.
