Liverpool saw a goal incorrectly ruled out by VAR for offside in Saturday's game, leading to criticism of the officials and an apology from PGMOL
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes Premier League clubs should introduce automated technology to assist VAR on the back of Tottenham's controversial 2-1 win against Liverpool on Saturday.
The Merseysiders released a statement of their own and the controversy has called into question the reliability and future of VAR. Former Reds defender Ferdinand has now claimed Premier League clubs rejected a call to use automated technology, a statement which our colleagues at the Liverpool Echo understand to be wide of the mark.Ferdinand, speaking on his Vibe With Five podcast, said: "All the clubs had the chance to vote on the technology that would've cleared this goal up.
"The Premier League clubs decided, 'we're not ready to have that in the Premier League this year.' I don't know what it was, they voted against it so to see clubs complaining about it is wild to me.
