Cristiano Ronaldo has already scored more goals than Pele, according to official records, with Manchester United legend determined to reach the 1,000-mark
Cristiano Ronaldo was humorously labelled a 'b*****d' by Rio Ferdinand after the Portuguese superstar made a playful dig at Pele.
Most statistical records, which only consider senior level matches, place Pele's actual tally at 757 . Ronaldo has already exceeded that number and currently stands at 899 goals for club and country, meaning he would need to continue playing into his 40s to hit the coveted 1,000-mark. Realising the dig at Pele's questionable claim to 1,000 goals, a laughing Ferdinand said: "You're a b******. You're talking about Di Stefano, you're talking about Pele, you're talking about Eusebio."
