Sunak has 'abandoned' social care sector by delaying key manifesto pledge, says health chief 🗣️ Nadra Ahmed said it was “extremely disappointing” that the PM was considering delaying an announcement of a social care cap until at least 2025
also played a role in many of the 40,000 staff switching roles. “And they were never going to come back, because the terms and conditions in the NHS are so much more favourable,” Ms Ahmed said.
“That would enable people to come forward and see where they fit best. There’s too much competition going on between the NHS and social care, and that is based around pay and conditions. We need a real levelling up for our workforce. “The skill level needed for social care staff is akin to the NHS, given they largely look after people with chronic multiple health issues.”
