On his Twitter account, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak shared a video of his visit to Israel. He showed support to Israeli Prime Minister and President as he carried meetings with them.
The PM is set for talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, having kicked off a flurry of diplomatic activity with a visit to Tel Aviv this morning.
But he also welcomed news that humanitarian aid will be allowed into Gaza, announced following Joe Biden's visit yesterday. Mr Sunak underlined that Israel's actions needed to stay within international law and the 'precautions' it was taking to minimise civilian casualties. Mr Sunak trod a careful line at a meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu this morning, strongly backing Israel's right to respond to the atrocities committed on October 7
Mr Sunak extended an invite to the Crown Prince to visit the UK when they met at the G20 in Indonesia last year, although there are no firm dates yet. On 2 October 2018, Khashoggi entered the Saudi consulate to collect marriage documents but was never seen to leave the building.
