The Prime Minister said on his way to the G7 summit in Japan that his focus was on illegal immigration

The number of people moving to Britain each year has continued to rise despite Brexit, which saw EU citizens lose the automatic right to settle in the UK, with growing numbers of foreign students and refugee schemes for the citizens of Ukraine and Hong Kong seen as major factors.
