In response, he was removed from his post as a parliamentary private secretary in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, an unpaid position which compels MPs to follow the Government’s policy line in public.A No 10 spokesperson said: “Paul Bristow has been asked to leave his post in Government following comments that were not consistent with the principles of collective responsibility.
