The singer also spoke about taking ownership of her music and working with Prince just a few years before he passed away
Pop superstar Rita Ora visited Manchester to take part in a keynote discussion as part of the city’s first ever music conference.
Rita, who recently released her third album You & I, began working with talent manager Sarah more than a decade ago when she was just 17 as she was preparing to put her name forward to represent the UK at Eurovision. The singer, who still holds the record for the most top ten singles by a female artist in the UK, also talked about taking ownership of her music, working with Prince and what she’s learnt from watching David Beckham’s recent Netflix documentary.
“Having that resilience isn’t for the faint hearted, that’s why not everyone can do what we can do and you have to be really strong and understand that this too shall pass. It’s important to remember the people around you are what keep you up in those moments and that’s why having a manager who cares in the beginning is a fundamental factor in an artist management relationship.”
