Mets starter could stay put at the trade deadline because of one thing
decide it’s time to sell at the July 30 trade deadline, one highly touted pitcher will likely stay put: Sean Manaea., the MLB insider spoke to one general manager, who believes Manaea would be a nice target for teams, but his contract might hold them back.
This season, the 6-foot-5 left-hander has been one of the Mets’ more reliable starters. In 11 starts, he’s 3-2 with a 3.63 ERA, a team-leading 57 strikeouts and a 1.298 WHIP. In nine of his starts, he’s allowed three or fewer runs. According to Bowden, the following players have been identified as “players most likely traded” by decision-makers across MLB: First baseman Pete Alonso, right fielder Starling Marte, center fielder Harrison Bader, and pitchers Jose Quintana, Adam Ottavino and Jake Diekman.
