Rival protests escalated in Lincoln city centre when far-right and anti-fascist groups faced off over the government's proposed plans for RAF Scampton.
In an attempt to keep the peace, police officers tried to direct the nationalist group, led by poster boy Alek Yerbury, away from their rivals. Saad Gomaa, 33, of County Hotel, is charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a woman shortly on June 9 and will appear in court later this month. "Alek doesn't want the RAF Scampton plan to go ahead, he wants the £300 million heritage deal to go through, we want that too, we just have different ideologies."Next week, West Lindsey District Council will face a crucial permission hearing in the High Court, which will decide whether their case against the Home Office can proceed to a full judicial review.
