Two incidents of dolphins and a whale being disturbed have been reported this week.
Police are appealing for help tracking down the occupants of a boat and two jet skiers who disturbed dolphins and a whale in the River Clyde near Greenock.
A few days later, a boat was seen 'very close' to a pod of dolphins which included a young calf. The vessel was seen around 1.25pm on Thursday, June 14.Police have reminded the public that is it an offence to intentionally or recklessly disturb or harass protected species. “Dolphins, whales, seals and porpoises are a wonderful site off our coasts but they can easily be disturbed and should not be closely approached or chased.
