Emergency crews rushed to a crash near a Scots railway line this evening as train operators suspended services

It is believed the vehicle involved in the incident ended up on the track between Aberdeen and Portlethen around 5.25pm.Network Rail suspended services while emergency crews dealt with the incident. They later said it was safe to reopen the track but then would need to close the line again to allow for vehicle recovery.
Top news stories today A Network Rail statement said: "We're assisting the emergency services in their work to respond to a road traffic accident near the railway between Aberdeen and Portlethen stations. At the moment, no trains can run through this area." An update read: "It's now safe for us to reopen the railway between Aberdeen & Portlethen following an earlier road traffic accident. We will need to close the line later to allow the emergency services to safely recover the vehicle involved."
