A road in Leyland is closed
A Leyland road has been closed off by police after someone crashed into a telegraph pole causing it to come crashing down.
Bent Lane in Leyland has been closed due to the telegraph pole being knocked down. The road is currently closed and police say that it is a damage-only crash, after police were called at 9.17am. Openreach are yet to confirm if any problems are being caused in the area because of it, but say they are looking into it. It is not known how long the road will be closed for.Pictures show the telegraph pole in the street after it was knocked down by the vehicle. A spokesperson for Lancashire Police confirmed it is a damage only RTC.
A spokesperson said: "It’s a damage only collision, no injuries. We got the call at 9.17am, a Volkswagen car has hit the telegraph pole. The pole has come down and some of the wires are on the road." The telegraph pole has come down near some houses in the area but doesn't look like it has caused any damage to neighbouring buildings.
