The Scottish public are once again being asked to get their creative hats on and help name the new fleet of road gritters for the winter ahead.
Amey South-West Trunk Roads are running another gritter-naming appeal following a successful initiative last year that led to trucks being called names such as “Kevin Fridges” “Stone Cold Steve Frostin” “Keanu Freeze” and “Skate Bush”.
Scottish companies such as Irn-Bru and Tunnock’s have previously been involved in the fleet-naming scheme. To prepare for this winter, Amey has amassed 21,000 tonnes of road salt, 231,000 litres of brine, and 50,000 litres of potassium acetate.
