Road in Nottingham taped off after body of man in his 20s found
Residents have spoken of their surprise after a body was found in a Nottingham street. Beacon Hill Rise in St Ann's near its junction with Hawkridge Gardens was cordoned off by police after the body of a man in his 20s was found.
Paul Hall, who has lived on Hawkridge Gardens for the past 44 years, said: "I had a lie in - it was my partner who told me, she'd seen the police cars and told me 'something has happened'. Some officers were knocking on doors. I shouted 'what's happened' and they told me that a body had been found. Richard Morgan, who has lived on Hawkridge Gardens for 10 years, said: "It happened just over there on Beacon Hill Rise - I saw it when I had just finished my night shift, it would have been about 5.30am. They cordoned it all off. There's not been any police here for a while, actually, not for a few years."
