Essential work is being carried out on the A77 just north of the town.
Essential bridge expansion joint replacement, deck refurbishment works and resurfacting is set to get underway next week on the A77 at Bridgemill.
The works begin on Monday, May 20 and are set to last until Friday, June 21 with the work being carried out between 8am-5pm, that being expanded to 6pm on June 4 and June 21. The work will be carried out during the day using temporary traffic lights which will be in place continuously throughout the works. But there may be an occasional need for overnight road closures for which a signed diversion route will be in operation.
Until these works commence, temporary traffic lights will be in place at this location, to ensure the safety of road users. The signed diversion will operate as follows: Northbound A77 traffic will be diverted via Bridgemill Roundabout to the B734 towards Dailly and travel on the B741 towards Crosshill, and on to the B7023 towards Maybole. Vehicles will continue on the B7023 to Whitehall, then Kirkoswald Road where northbound traffic will re-join at the A77 at Maybole Bypass.Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works, which may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
