Rob Schneider spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about his decades-long friendship with fellow comedian Adam Sandler at the Aug. 20 premiere of Sandler's new Netflix special, 'Adam Sandler: Love You.' Schneider said Sandler makes sure to check in on him every week.
"No matter where I am in the world, I'll get a phone call, sometimes in the middle of the night," Schneider tells PEOPLE of his longtime friend and collaboratorErin Clack is a Staff Editor for PEOPLE. He's just incredible."When asked if he will be joining his longtime collaborator in the follow-up to the 1996 golf comedy, Schneider teases, "We'll see.
As Schneider reflected on Sandler's flourishing career, he tipped his hat to his friend's success, saying, "He's just getting started."is great. ... He's working with really, really talented people," continues Schneider, who recently made headlines for his fractured relationship with his daughter,for Netflix.
