The Dutch defender has a prime Rangers contact and big time brother
All the transfer talk at Rangers in recent days and weeks has centred around who will be leaving, so Philippe Clement has sprung something of a surprise with Robin Propper on his way to Glasgow.
What type of player is he? At 30, Propper is fairly described as "experienced" although he's never played outside of the Netherlands. Three years at De Graafschap were followed by five with Heracles Almelo before joining current club FC Twente in 2021. At 6' 3", Propper will certainly add height and presence to the backline that is much-needed following Goldson's departure.
"My plan was once that I wanted to go abroad when I was 28, and until then I would strive for the highest possible in the Eredivisie. Now that is no longer necessary at all costs. Maybe if the right club comes along. But the grass is not greener everywhere. I have a privileged position. I cherish that. I know where I come from and I am very happy with what I have."
